The entire team was able to race and celebrate together at the final race of the season at Windham mountain resort. Both middle and high school races took place on Sunday, so all the teammates were able to watch and cheer on everyone.
The course was a short one, about 2.5 miles for high school and slightly shorter for middle school. Like all mountain resort races, the course began with a steady climb up and then a fun downhill descent. The short course allowed for many laps and plenty of times to see all racers several times.
It was another hot and dry weekend of racing. We really lucked out weather wise for all the races this season, with no rain!
The families and races gathered in the tents through the day of a fantastic lunch spread from bountiful bread and tasty sides made by our R-Cubed families. Overall it was a fantastic day for all.
R-Cubed had 36 racers and 13 podium finishes for the day.
The Team finished in a fantastic 4th place overall for the season. The athletes worked hard throughout the season in practices and on their own and it paid off with a fantastic season.
In addition to our 4th overall finish, The R-Cubed composite was also awarded with the Course teardown award. After every race, The R-Cubed athletes volunteered and worked hard to help take the course down, which included pulling stakes and poles, rollign the course netting and banners, and removing zip ties and tape. It was amazing to see the team come together and contribute to the NICA organization. Your hard work does not go unrecognized.
Congratulations to all and thank you for such a great season.
